This is an instrument that, when worn, will magnify for the wearer the sound in front of the wearer for the property of a parabolic mirror, which will reflect sound from one direction into its center. The intention of the project is to focus on the noise that we've heard every day and try to make sense of it. Instead of simply ignoring the noise, my approach is to zoom in into the noise and feel it. I wanted to create a relatively enclosed sonic space where the listener has a certain level of isolation. Then the listener can reflect on what is heard and internalize it. I choose cardboard as the material for its flexibility. One important thing about the parabolic mirror is precision, so a lot of measurement was done. The instrument helps you to zoom in the object you both see and hear. Though it turns out not very effective in isolating sound but it does do some sound enhancement.
